Wedding Bells Are Ringing: Will You Say “I Do” to These 2025 Trends?
The Fashion Stock Market here, your one and only source into the hottest style trends and fashion events. This morning, I awoke to a familiar and distant ringing that filled the air. The chimes sounded faintly, but I recognized them as the same ones from last year, and the year before that. Yes, church bells are ringing, and you know what that means: wedding season is around the corner! With spring weddings behind us, the most popular wedding months–September through November–are ahead, and couples everywhere are getting engaged on romantic summer getaways. Perhaps your second cousin or your best friend just posted her new bling, or your sister asked you to come dress shopping with her, or your partner’s sister’s boyfriend invited you to his bachelor party and needs help deciding on a theme. Whatever the scenario, there are a million decisions to make leading up to the big day. From bridal showers to rehearsal dinners to honeymoon planning, weddings become a bigger spectacle every year, not to mention a bigger price tag. Seriously, we went from trashy bachelorette parties with strippers to girls weekends with yoga classes and private chefs and customized merch. Of course, I’m not here to judge–but it does make you wonder about how different weddings have become, in the lavish, stylish ways as well as the not-so-great. So, as autumn looms in the distance and those wedding bells begin their peeling, one question has been in the back of my mind: what does the 2025 wedding look like, and more important, how is the 2025 bride styled?
The first place any fashion-loving bride looks to for inspiration is none other than TikTok. Good thing it never got banned, otherwise countless people would be left without their saved wedding folders filled with ideas for their own special day. But TikTok is not the only place to find everything wedding-related, nor is it the most popular OG source. Pinterest has been a staple for amateur wedding planners for years, so naturally Pinterest search insights give us the deets on what’s in and what’s out for wedding season this year. According to the Pinterest Annual Wedding Trends Report, more than 13.4 billion wedding ideas were saved globally in one year on the app, meaning their insights offer information on what is trending for everyone, not just the typical NYC based influencer.
This upcoming wedding season, brown is the new black! Whether its bridesmaids dresses, bouquets, or boutonnieres, chocolate and mocha are the colors to look out for this autumn, and we love that!

In general, Gen Z is steering away from minimalism and getting creative with how they celebrate their nuptials. This is expressed in fashion terms with bolder colors, including chocolate brown and mocha tones for cozy fall weddings. According to the site, brown is the it-color of 2025 for weddings–us fashionistas could’ve predicted that, though. Brown has come back in a major way in recent years, turning a neutral, otherwise lackluster hue into the main attraction. In general, earth tones are popular colors for 2025 weddings, from burnt orange to dark green and terracotta. Pastels like baby pink and blue (and now, butter yellow) are still super in, especially for our springtime wedding girls. Contrarily, simple, natural makeup and accessories that accentuate the bride’s natural features are very popular, with soft glam and dewy makeup already trending outside of the realm of weddings.

Now, let’s get to the juicy part, what you all came here for: the dress and the ring. When someone gets down on one knee and proposes to the teary-eyed, blissfully astonished bride, they are making the first fashion statement in their engagement journey. Comparatively, the dress is the last. These two are the most iconic and notable; this is probably why we spend countless hours, and break our banks, to find the perfect ring and the perfect dress. It’s natural–we grow up waiting for this day and everything leading up to it must be just right. For a 2025 engaged couple, there are a few ring trends we are seeing and we love. Vintage ring silhouettes are back, as well as (deep breath): multi-stones, half-bezels, east-west settings, toi-et-mois, marquise/oval shapes, maximalist ring stackings, bold colors, and gems besides diamonds, such as emeralds and sapphires. While many 2025 brides prefer simple, practical choices, such as an emerald-cut moissanite ring with a yellow gold band, others are leaning into the never-before-seen, making 2025 the year for antique-loving, risk-taking brides!
Unique lace patterns are super in right now, with lace being the most popular dress material for brides this year.

As for the dress, lace and pearls are more “in” than ever. These elements add that vintage touch that is flooding people’s moodboards this year, elevating something simple to something timelessly chic. Brides are looking to the 80s and 90s for inspiration, with Basque waists, vintage Vera Wang, and detailed veils reaching high search popularity among Gen Z. Certain styles, like a drop-waist gown, are a hit or miss for brides, but a few come out on top as the most popular overall. Square neck a-line is a popular search on Pinterest, as well as the more general “dainty wedding dress.” To truly understand what’s in the spotlight, we need look no further than New York Bridal Fashion Week: the quintessential guide for brides.
Data of popular wedding colors from New York Bridal Fashion Week
We conducted an image analysis of the 2025 New York Bridal Fashion Week, and the most popular category, with an 89.6% search increase, was for the dresses. The most popular fabrics searched for were lace (97.9% increase), chiffon (70.8%), beaded (56.3%), embroidered (47.9%), and pleated (35.4%). Popular shapes include sheath (91.7%), A-line (85.4%), maxi (66.7%), fit (62.5%), and slim (47.9%). Some popular styles people were searching for after fashion week are summer, elegant, and sweetheart, popular textures include floral and linen, and popular colors are #514438, #cabeb3, #e6dfdb, #877769, and #ac9d8e. All of this to say brown tones are center stage, as are florals and lace!
Grooms are opting for bold suit and tux color choices for their big day.

As for suits, grooms are incorporating bold colors into their tuxedoes, making for a more interesting take on the traditional. The same goes for the groomsmen, and textures are being experimented with as well, with lace tuxes becoming quite popular with the summer heat. Unsurprisingly, grooms are drawn to colors that have already been trending, like brown and pastels. We love how things are being shaken up in this area of fashion; as many TikTok wedding content creators have pointed out recently, it’s their day too!
Every couple of years, when wedding trends begin to shift and what was once considered the ring or dress or even tuxedo of the year is tossed aside for something shinier and newer, we look back at how far we’ve come and laugh at the ghosts of weddings past. I mean, magenta bridesmaids dresses? Bright red lipstick to go with an even brighter white dress? What were we thinking! While it’s fun to scorn old trends, we have to admit that they’re not truly ghosts, because almost every style choice has its revival at some point. Since the 90s are having their big moment this year, perhaps we will see y2k inspired wedding dresses a few years down the line, and a 2010s renaissance in the 2030s. It’s hard to imagine now, with fashion’s emphasis on simplicity and chic choices contradicting the unique, bold choices of the 2000s, but they don’t call them trend cycles for no reason. I, for one, can’t wait to see what the future for wedding fashion looks like. I mean, how boring would weddings be if we didn’t have clothes to judge in between toasts and cake? Here’s to the 2025 wedding season, and to even more riveting trends for 2026 to report on!
