Stranger Things: An ‘80s Time Capsule
Whether you're a recurring fan or a new time watcher tuning in just in time for the 5th season, Stranger Things is a show that is giving the ’80s a revival that is so deserved. This Netflix series has been bringing back the fashion of the past for a decade, providing the new generation with a style so nice it just had to be done twice.
Each and every one of the characters has their own unique style, showing off their personal tastes for the fashion trends of the time through huge hair or beat-up Converse. From the nerds to the jocks to the journalists, each teen’s style gets to shine through on the big screen.

Hair
Who could forget about the classic hairstyles of the series? The bigger the better when it comes to taming these characters' manes for that signature 80s look, and they definitely had some big hair. With haircuts like mullets, bowl cuts, and bobs, or the classic high pony and bright scrunchie, these characters' hairdos made the episodes of Stranger Things feel like they were pulled straight out of a time machine.

Graphic Tees
One of the most notable trends to come out of the show was the rise of ‘Hell Fire Club” graphic tees that were worn by the D&D club at Hawkins High, and then by almost every fan of the show. Designed in a true 80’s fashion, these graphics were printed on a baseball-style tee-shirt with what looks to be a hand-drawn graphic on them. Even though fans may not rock their “Hell Fire Club” tees anymore, it is probably the first item of clothing you think about when someone mentions Stranger Things.

Patterns
Big and colorful patterns were a staple of the 80s. Each character tries their hand at incorporating them into their wardrobe, whether it be triangles, stripes, or flannel. I mean, one of the most iconic pieces from this show might just be Eleven’s patterned jumpsuit from Season Three.

Scoops Ahoy Attire
While it might not be its own category of 80s accessories, the outfits worn by Steve and Robin to sling ice cream in Season 3 will always be my personal favorite. Consisting of patriotic stripes, ascots, and vests, these sailors work hard to serve customers in the mall while looking ready to sail across the seven seas.

No matter what these Netflix characters were wearing, the costume designers of the show really know how to send the audience back to the ‘80s and embrace the look of a typical teen during that time period, even if they are fighting supernatural forces while sporting their attire.
